You ever called somewhere and spoke to someone that was just RUDE????
I’m sorry that you hate your job, but you don’t have to be snarky with me!!!!!
You should also maybe take some anger management classes!!
I’m sitting here in an 80° room, smelling like a goat, and managed not to cuss her out!!!
Hope your day gets better, Frita!

Momma and I were sitting on her front porch one afternoon. The sun was shining, and there was a bit of a breeze.
I happened to look up and see buzzards circling.
I looked over and said, “Momma, you better start moving. They’re already circling ya!”
She cut her eyes, told me to shut up, and we both laughed.
The last couple of days that she was with me, she didn’t respond to me a lot.
I whispered in her ear…
“Remember, Momma, I want butterflies, not buzzards!”
The Sunday morning after she passed, I walked out to the porch for my typical morning coffee.
First thing I see?
One single buzzard circling my house.
Most people would be disturbed by the idea, but not me.
I smiled and said, “Thanks, Momma.” ❤️
Now, every time I see one, I smile!!
Well… except the ones I see eating. Those are pretty disturbing! 😂 -

Professional Thief!!
He slides in when the sun goes down and steals the groceries!!!
He is not feeding the family…
He is packing on the pounds!!! 😂 -
In his younger years, he was homeless.
For about 30 minutes. 😂 Before I could get him into my hands.
He has turned it all around and is now living his best life!
This handsome bachelor has his own home, with a personal chef and maid. He has it all!
Except…
He’s missing his person.
My Momma. ❤️

Affectionately known as Freeloader. ♡
This porch sitter showed up at Momma’s house four months after she passed.
I started feeding her from a distance.
The winter was cold, so I put boxes and blankets out for her.
Now?
After a year, she is obviously quite comfy with her staff position!
Queen Bee of the back porch and Emotional Support Manager.
And apparently, the staff chair belongs to her, too.

When Momma went into the hospital May of 2025 something in my heart said she wasn’t coming home.
I spent a month there with her. I learned the terms, the schedule, the nurses, and did the best I could to advocate for her.
There came a moment at 3 A.M where I stood motionless as I saw her slipping away.
Her vitals were dropping and within 1 minute the room was filled with specialists. They were throwing every option at me that they could think of.
My head was spinning and everything sounded like Charlie Brown.
A kind lady Dr. (I dont remember her name) whispered in my ear…your mom said no to this today.
I looked at her with tears in my eyes and thanked her.
In whatever voice I could muster I said No. I had them put her on comfort care. This meant no more sticks, tests, checks, nothing.
They all left and the room went silent.
I pulled the very uncomfortable chair that I had been sleeping in up to her bed.
I held her hand so that I would know when she woke up.
That was probably the most peaceful night there.
I actually slept for about 3 hours.
As she started getting restless, I woke up. I snapped this picture knowing it would be the last.

The house AC has been broken since Saturday!!! Thank you, Mr. Carrier, for spoiling me.
I spent the evening across the street with my step-dad. We decided on tuna melts for dinner. That was a childhood favorite of mine.
I bet my Momma was so excited that she caught a break with that. Easy & cheap is a plus when you’re a parent, especially when I was a teenager.
I was talking to Chris about starting this blog. He was excited for me. I was sharing stories with him about my childhood. He was sharing what Momma had told him.
While the rain poured outside, I realized that he is one of the few people left on this planet who has seen most of the stages of my life.
That was kind of a sad feeling, to be honest.

Had my first mammogram today. About three weeks after we reached one year without Momma, I found a lump.
I have fibrocystic issues, so it wasn’t a big cause for concern until it didn’t go away. After a couple of weeks, I figured I better get it checked.
She celebrated no cancer with me.

Today was brunch with a friend. She chose a restaurant that I had only been to twice. Since we (me and all my little voices) have decided to venture back into the world, we decided to scope the menu out last night.
The lemon curd ricotta pancakes looked lovely.
Oh and yes, Mimosa please!!!
The time passed quickly as we enjoyed our food and conversation.
I have known her for probably 16 years, and this is the first time we did some girl time without the rest of the family.
As we were leaving she told me that I was a hot mess, but she loved my energy.
What a great complement.

Yummy 😋
